Church of England Junior School

Individual Table Tennis Competition

Girls come out on top

Aldworth School was again the venue for the first individual table tennis tournament of the school year. 12 very excited boys and girls from St Mary’s started the afternoon with a brief warm up playing each other. They then dove straight into competitive games against St Johns’ and Kempshott with all children displaying some excellent skills. Most of the matches, were closely fought, with all pupils trying their best to stay composed throughout the group stages.

Our boys performed well with a mix of wins and losses, but overall, they played some great table tennis, fighting for every point.

The girls also had some tough competition to test their skills but managed to secure ample wins with a few losses along the way. Sophie had an amazing afternoon hitting the ball with purpose and power securing her position as overall under 11 girls champion. Sophie will now go forward to represent Basingstoke in the County Individual Championships.

Shriya and Lucy received bronze medals and Megan won the Plate competition.

Well done to all of our players who performed  a high level of table tennis throughout an extremely tense afternoon.
