Down Grange hosted the Hampshire Schools’ XC Championships for the under 12 age group on Tuesday 6^th March. Charlie and Isabel two of our talented athletes were selected as part of the Basingstoke team.

Isabel and the under 12 girls set off first with a total of 116 runners, competing in extremely muddy conditions. Unperturbed, Isabel ran with confidence, thoroughly enjoying the challenge, finishing in 47^th place with a time of 9 minute 14 seconds.

Charlie was the next athlete at the start line, with a total of 124 runners hoping for success. Charlie had some tough competition but he maintained a strong position throughout, ending the race in 12^th place, with a time of 7 minutes 47 seconds just 41 seconds behind the winner.

A fine run by both of our pupils and an integral part of the Basingstoke team. It was also fabulous to see one of our ex-pupils win the overall title in the next age group - congratualtions Sienna.
