Top shots in Basketball

.After our huge success...

After our huge success reaching the Hampshire Games over the past years, St. Mary’s Basketball Team were determined to get straight into business.

Ten pupils represented our school in the Basingstoke Basketball Finals held at The Vyne on Tuesday 27th March.

Our first match was against St John’s who had some skilful players which stretched our team to the limit. The score was 4-4 at the break so, with a half time chat, we managed to eventually win the game 10-4.

Spurred on by this success, we won our next match against North Waltham 10-2, who also fielded some very talented players.

The final game against Fairfields started off with a very close battle but a shuffle with the team pulled the score back to win 12-4.

This result has safely put us through to the Hampshire Games in June.

We now have a lot of skills to learn before this prestigious event as the level intensifies. The children now need to focus on passing, dribbling and shooting techniques to involve the whole team.

Well done to to the whole team who were a pleasure to take to the tournament. Thanks once again to the parents and carers who attended and lent their support.
