On Thursday 14th June, Year 6 travelled to Bramley to take part in the annual ThinkSafe event. The children participated in several workshops, focussing on different aspects of safety. They explored road safety, which involved calculating the stopping distance of a heavy goods vehicle. The fire service were there to and showed the children how to make a 999 call. They were shown how to put someone in the recovery position by a representative from the NHS. National Rail showed them the importance of staying away from the train tracks. They also explored the dangers of the internet and how to protect themselves online. Finally, the police service were there showing the children the dangers of talking to strangers. As usual, the children were very well-behaved and represented St. Mary’s superbly.
