Visitors to school

On Monday 29th April we had uninvited yet charming visitors to school.

On Monday 29th April we had uninvited yet charming visitors to school.  The courtyard in the centre of school was host to a mother duck and her ducklings that had hatched over the weekend.  Our two nature loving office ladies,Mrs Pellet and Mrs Baldwin were very keen to ensure they had food and water.  Following a phone call to the RSPCA we were encouraged to "shoe" them out of the courtyard and into the open so they could find water and food.

After much frantic shooing and careful herding, they made their way out and into the playground.  They were last seen making their way to the back of the playing field where the old canal is.

We wish them them well (not that they will be reading this!) and wonder if mother duck will return next year...
