Year 6 Kwik Cricket County Final Winners!

On Thursday 4th July, the Year 6 Kwik Cricket Team won the County Finals Kwik Cricket Competition at The Ageas Bowl! They are now through to the Kwik Cricket Regional Finals at The Ageas Bowl on Tuesday 16th July. Well done boys!

Huge congratulations to the Year 6 Kwik Cricket team - Sajan, Dan, Yash, Edward, Reece, Owen, Sam and Gareth who took part in the Kwik Cricket County Final at The Ageas Bowl after qualifying from the Kwik Cricket competition at May’s Bounty on the 21st May!

The day started with the group stages, where St Mary’s played against Limington Junior School, Court Lane Junior School and Clatford Primary School. St Mary’s won each of these games, securing themselves a place in the quarter finals where they played against Botley Primary School. Again, St Mary’s worked as a team to win the match and got through to the semifinals. During each match, the team communicated excellently with each other and the boys all showed great enthusiasm and determination, which again, helped to secure them a place in the finals against Ringwood Junior School. In every game, St Mary’s fielding was exceptional and was complimented on by a number of different schools and spectators!

St Mary’s proceeded to provide a thrilling county final and, in the end, they emerged as the County Champions and will now go forward to represent the county in the Regional Finals at the Ageas Bowl on the 16th July!

It was a thrilling day of outstanding cricket! The team played in a competitive and sporting spirit, a major highlight being the number of 6s disappearing into the stands at the county ground!
