Basingstoke is currently undertaking a Sports Strategy Review in partnership between the Borough Council and major local sports clubs. Maria Miller MP and Helen Grant Minister for Sport were recently invited by Basinstoke Hockey Club to discuss the future of hockey locally and took the opportunity to visit Basingstoke & Mid Hants Athletic Club, Basingstoke Rugby Club and The Hampshire FA Headquarters at Winklebury. Some of the St. Mary's pupils were training at Down Grange and met with the dignataries.
