Twelve of our year 5/6 children had a successful afternoon competing in our cluster athletics event. We competed against seven other schools in running, jumping and throwing. We achieved 1st place in girl’s relays, the 2 and 3 length sprints, chest push, standing long jump (boys and girls) and triple jump for girls.

We were lucky enough to have some of our parents supporting and encouraging all the children in their various events which really helped with their confidence and self belief.

Half way through the competition we were informed that we were neck and neck with another school. After a team talk, which reassured everyone that they had the capability and skills to accomplish the gold, the children entered into their final events.

The girls had a clean sweep in the relays and the boys in the long jump.

All the schools gathered together anxious to hear the results and after a long pause we were amazed that we had actually won by 65 points overall. A superb achievement, with excellent behaviour throughout and the children were a credit to our school.

Children who took part were; Charlie, Kurtis, Ethan, Ben, Louis, Hayden, Isabel, Maddie, Ivana, Febe, Olivia and Anaya.
