Year 5 went to explore what was once the biggest Tudor house in Britain - Basing House. Unfortunately there is only a ruin today, however, we were able to explore Tudor artefacts found from the site and have a remarkable tour with the leading historian on Basing House - Alan Turton. We were lucky enough to see re-enactments of the battle during the Civil War and learn how to load and shoot a musket and use a pike.
