What a show and tell!

On Friday 13th July 2012, Katie, a pupil in class 12 brought in a remarkable, unique show and tell item.

The item is one of the five Beijing 2008 Olympic torches.

The inscription on the box reads – Light the Passion, Share the Deram.  Mr Gazzard, Katie’s teacher and PE coordinator sent Katie out of class with it to share with the rest of the school.  Together with her friend, Rebecca, they went on their own Olympic torch relay around the school.

Rebecca commented,

“It is really pretty and I love the red swirly clouds.”

Many children did dramatic re - enactments of Wednesday’s torch relay that came through Basingstoke.

Many thanks to Katie’s father who works for Le Novo who designed and made the 2008 torch and for letting Katie bring it into school today.  What an exclusive show and tell!

On Wedensday 18th July we have a special visitor who will be bringing one of the London 2012 olympic torches into school for the children to see.
