Year 6 meet Macbeth and Banquo!

The Young Shakespeare Company visit St Mary's to work with Year 6.

On the 27th of September, Year 6 and their teachers were lucky enough to watch the Shakespeare classic, "Macbeth". It was performed beautifully by The Young Shakespeare Company in St. Mary's school hall.

This brilliant tale begins on a dismal and desolate heath in Scotland. We meet Macbeth and Banquo - our heroes - who have returned from battle victorious. Suddenly, three horrifying witches appear from nowhere and tell Macbeth and Banquo a set of prophecies that gradually begin to come true, much to the pleasure of Macbeth and his wife but to the horror of everyone around them. This sensational story covers the themes of betrayal, deceit and ambition; all driven by Macbeth's need for power.

This performance is suitable for children aged 10 to 18 due to frightening scenes and loud noises. If you are scared of loud noises, this play isn't for you. I highly recommend this stunning play!
