Church of England Junior School

Sports Day

Sports and fundraising combine this year

Our annual Sports Day was booked for the 30th June. It is always a wonderful event for both the children and parents with many of you attending to cheer on all those taking part. Whilst we cannot come
together at the moment as a full community, we would like all children to
participate in an activity around this date that encourages them to have fun, participate and keep active.

In school we will be organising events for children within their ‘bubbles’. These will include a running event, a jump and a throw.

For those families at home, we would love you to organise a Sports Day in your back garden and involve the whole family. At home you could complete shuttle runs of your back garden, take part in a standing long jump, see how far you can ‘wang a wellie’, count how many skips you can do in a minute, or time your daily mile run!  How creative can you and your children be in planning your sports day events?

As well as having lots of fun we would also like to raise money for one of our local charities. Your donation will help to provide the care and support that local cancer patients, their families and loved ones need and deserve. Follow the link below to our just giving page:

The cancer treatment centre will enhance the care received by patients and their families throughout their cancer treatment.Core treatments together with complementary therapies will be provided in a calm and uplifting environment. Please visit their website - to find out more.

Have a lovely time, tell us about what you do and let's raise as much money as we can for this really worthwhile cause.
