Pianos - buying and tuning
Although a regularly tuned acoustic piano is ideal, a good electric piano is fine as an alternative.
It is important that an electric piano has 88 touch sensitive and weighted keys as well as a sustain pedal. Dawsons and also Hickies, both in Reading have a good range of electric pianos and acoustic pianos. I would suggest a Yamaha P-45 as a minimum standard. This bundle gives you all you will need (currently £375 from Dawsons, though obviously available elsewhere). It is sometimes possible to pick up a decent second hand electric piano on ebay.
For tuning an acoustic piano I would recommend Ben Wheelers
They also have a selection of new and second hand pianos for sale.
