The main theme of the service, connected to our own core value, was hope. After what has been another different and, at times, challenging academic year, hope for what is to come has been something we’ve discussed a lot. Each school was encouraged to learn more about irises as this flower represents hope and at St. Mary’s, each child created an oil pastel image of their own iris. Two raised flower beds have been placed on the school grounds, directly next to the playground, with irises planted in both. The current Year 6 children were able to enjoy them and they form part of the legacy of this year group. Anyone enjoying the flowers is reminded to think about our current Year 6 children and share in their hope for the future.
