Year 3 go shopping!

The children looked at the coins that make up our monetary system and were then set the challenge of making a flower from different coloured papers.  The challenge being that they only had a small amount of money in their group and a few resources to sell to other groups.  They learnt about buying items, having enough money to buy items and about giving change.

Next time you go shopping see if they are able to help you to work out the total for a few bits of shopping, and what money (notes and coins) you will need to buy them.
