Dickens Class Make Bread
As part of our design technology curriculum and linked to our topic, we made Roman bread in class today. The children applied their maths skills in measuring and weighing the ingredients for the bread and then enjoyed kneading and shaping the loaves.
We were amazed when the bread doubled in size and we visited the kitchens, where our kind kitchen staff had cooked our bread in their amazing bread oven. We even got a chance to see the oven. Back in class, we created a Roman Feast with a chance to taste olives and dip our bread in balsamic vinegar or olive oil. Some of us loved the taste; others not so much!
