Over 2,000 young people competed in the Hampshire Games as part of the Sainsbury’s School Games initiative, across a range of sports including Athletics, Basketball, Boccia, Cycling, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, New Age Kurling, Rounders, Swimming, Tag Rugby, Tennis, Tri-Golf, Trampolining and Volleyball.

Cricketing success!
Published 18/06/15Fantastic performances by both the Year 6 Girls and Boys teams meant that St. Mary’s carried off the two winning trophies for the Basingstoke Schools Kwik Cricket competition on 16th June.

Published 18/06/15At 7pm on Thursday 11th June 2015, ten Year 5 children welcomed visitors from our twin town of Euskirchen in Germany as part of the Basingstoke Festival of Sport; this was our 7th year of being involved.

Cross Country
Published 13/02/15Thirty two excited children travelled to Queen Mary’s College to take part in the annual Basingstoke Primary Schools X Country relay competition. Four members made up each team; all performed exceptionally well and were a credit to our school.

Athletics
Published 29/01/15Twelve of our year 5/6 children had a successful afternoon competing in our cluster athletics event. We competed against seven other schools in running, jumping and throwing. We achieved 1st place in girl’s relays, the 2 and 3 length sprints, chest push, standing long jump (boys and girls) and triple jump for girls.
