Olympic torch come through Basingstoke
Wednesday 11th July was no ordinary day for the children at St Mary's Junior school as many took advantage of the opportunity to witness the olympic torch travel through our very own Basingstoke.
Those in school were able to enjoy the event via the bbc website.
Little known is that Sue Hillyard, a member of staff at the school as well as an athletics judge, was given the opportunity to hold the 2012 torch and the 1948 torch.
A once in a life time day for all concerned.
