To help year 5 with their learning about forces and with the help from one of our parents, we were able to launch some rockets.
Stage 1: Design your rocket
Stage 2: Have a friendly Chemical Engineer who makes dry ice for a living visit your school
Stage 3: Take rocket and friendly Chemical Engineer and dry ice to launch pad (field)
Stage 4: Listen whilst Chemical Engineer demonstrates and a rocket launch using dry ice
Stage 5: Explain what forces are at work
Stage 6: Group competition - who can launch their rocket the furthest.
