World Book Day

St Mary's Drop Everything to Read!

At St Mary's we celebrated World Book Day by recommending good books/ authors to one another and those of us stuck for a goodbook , left with some of ideas from their class. Each class spent time enjoying and responding to a chosen book ranging from some classic Alfred Noyes poetry, to the poignant 'Where's the Elephant?' and even to the sublime (and slightly ridiculous) 'The Book with No Pictures'. We also had to drop everything to enjoy our book on a number of occasions today following the buzzer or bell in our class. This helped  us take the time to see what really books mean to us and where they allow us all to escape to!

Happy World Book Day one and all! But for most of us, every day's a book day!
