Safari Pete visits

Early in the second part of the Spring Term, year five children were visited by Safari Pete (www.safaripete.co.uk).  We invited Pete to come along to share with us his extraordinary range of animals from the different biomes of the world.

Our learning in year five this half term is all answering the question of “In which biome would you make your home?” and Pete was able to share with us some animals from the rainforests of Australia and a tree frog, some meerkats from arid climates, a scorpion, a barn owl from temperate woodlands, a monitor lizard and a young Nile crocodile to name but a few.  The bearded dragons were a favourite of some of the pupils.

The children loved the show and learnt a great deal about both the animals, their biomes and the conservation issues surrounding some of them.  If you want to see more images of our visit our gallery of 2016-17.
