County Cricket Finals

Following their success at their respective District tournaments...

Following their success at their respective District tournaments, our boys and girls competed at the County Schools Kwik Cricket competitions at St. Cross, Winchester.

The girls’ team, comprising children from Years 5 and 6, did exceptionally well and reached the semi-final stage. This was the furthest that any of our girls’ teams have ever progressed at this level. Again, a very high level of batting, fielding and bowling was on show. It was also apparent that our girls had an excellent team spirit and were a shining example of our school values.

The previous day, the boys’ team competed in a very strong field of teams drawn from across the county. They won through their group stage before being defeated by one of the eventual finalists. It was a superb effort and the development of the boys’ skills from our initial training sessions at school was apparent. We have a high number of boys with real cricketing potential and one hopes they will continue with the sport at secondary school and beyond.

Many thanks to those parents who provided transport and who lent their support at the competitions on the day.
