Year 4 experienced all things French when le café français est arrivé à St.Mary’s! The children were given euros to purchase some drinks and snacks and they sat at their café tables waiting to be served in French! Madame Quick and the year 4 team took orders and The Costello School sent some wonderful year 8 pupils to assist as well. Once the children had ordered in French and had paid with their euros, they could sit back and enjoy being served. The children seemed to particularly enjoy le sirop de cerise! The croissants, baguettes, brioches and pain au chocolat went down extremely well too. After this, the children could design their own menu in French, based on some of the foods they had learnt in class.

Madame Malone was also on hand to do some fantastic songs in French with each class and we were really lucky to have our café started with a wonderful accordion player! For our third activity, Madame Pressner was teaching the children all about French art and she was focusing on Pointillism. The children produced some wonderful pictures based on the artist Seurat, they really did replicate his style.
