On the 28th February, we were delighted to welcome Denis Bond to the school to begin our Book Week in celebration of World Book Day on 1st March. In the morning, he met with Years 5 and 6 to discuss his writing; through this, he inspired them to read and also encouraged those children not members of a local library to join up and start borrowing books! Later in the morning, he met with Years 3 and 4 and entertained them with stories about his work. They too were inspired to read through his enthusiasm and quick-witted humour. Later in the afternoon, he met again with Years 5 and 6 for a writing workshop. He taught them his method for planning and encouraged them to use the full extent of their imagination when creating wonderful tales.
