Church of England Junior School

2018 Spring Open Day

Members of our school community enjoy visiting our school.

It was lovely to welcome so many parents, grandparents and friends to our annual free-flow open day on Tuesday 20th March.  Ms Welch and Mrs Lillywhite shared some updates on school strategic aims and shared with parents strategies to help develop our pupils as readers. We were also proud to share a few of our reasons to celebrate!

Visitors, including parents of year 2 pupils at Old Basing Infant School, then had the opportunity to tour the school - they were encouraged to go everywhere and anywhere to see our school in action.  Lessons including History, Art, English and even a lacrosse lesson outside.  We were pleased to welcome volunteers and organisations who support the school to join us for this Open Day, including Sports Xtra, LinguaTasitcs, HC3S, the School Library Service and the school governors. The food samples from HC3S were a particular hit!  We were also pleased to be able to showcase our amazing Sugar Craft Club during the morning session.

Feedback from all those who attended was extremely positive.  The following comments really sum up the day;

'Thank you for all the effort put in by the staff and children.'

'Very welcoming, polite and confident children.'

'A very useful and inspiring morning.'

We thank those who attended for taking the time to complete the evaluations for us and look forward to welcoming you all back into school soon.
