Boys Kwik Cricket County Final

Following their success at the District tournament, our boys competed at the County Schools Kwik Cricket competitions at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton on Monday 2nd July.

The boys’ team competed in a very strong field of teams drawn from across the county. They won through their group stage by winning all four games before being defeated in the semi-final. It was a superb effort (especially given the very hot weather on the day) and only the third time that we have reached the semi-final or beyond. A very high level of batting, fielding and bowling was on show. It was also apparent that our boys had an excellent team spirit and were a shining example of our school values.

In addition, the development of the boys’ skills from our initial training sessions at school was evident across both the District and County tournaments. We have a high number of boys with real cricketing potential and one hopes that they will continue with the sport at secondary school and beyond.

Many thanks to those parents who provided transport and who lent their support at the competition on the day.
