Church of England Junior School

Autumn Term Eucharist

Canon Ken led our Autumn term Eucharist for Year 5 and 6.

Pupils in Year 5 experienced their first Eucharist service at St Mary's today as we welcomed Canon Ken to school to lead us in our service.

We were pleased to welcome other members of the St Mary's Church congregation and some relatives of year 5 and 6 pupils to our autumn term service.

The prayers below were written and delivered by some year 6 pupils as part of this lovely service.

Dear God,

Help us to show compassion by giving people who can’t afford food or water. We can provide people a small donation so they can stay healthy and have a normal human life. We are all equal and all have human rights, thanks to you.  We thank you for our luxuries and ask you support those without those same luxuries like warm water and three meals a day.

Amen

Dear Lord,

Help us to understand that conflict in the world can not only be stopped by fighting but can be stopped by showing peace and hope to people around us.  Help us to remember those who fought for us and teach us to show compassion to them. We ask that you show us how to let love into our hearts and build peace forever.

Amen

Dear God,

Thank you for letting us be kind to others and allowing us to care for our friends and family. We find it difficult at times to show compassion for people that we aren’t close with and we ask for your support in showing kindness and love to those people, just as Jesus taught us.

Amen
