Regional Kwik Cricket Finals

On Tuesday 16th July our year 6 Kwik cricket team, who had previously been crowned the county champions, took part in the regional finals to find out which team were the best kwik cricketers of the southern area.  There were teams from Devon to Kent at the Aegeas bowl.  Reports suggest that there was also a distinct lack of shade for the boys who took part in such scorching temperatures.

It was quite the occasion and communication between the school and the cricket ground was tense as we all wanted the team to do well yet it was also the opening night of the year 6 performance (schools will rock you) and some key actors were also key cricketers!

We need not have worried; the team acquitted themselves very well with a number of games coming down to a few single runs between the winning teams.  The team tried so hard that one member had to visit A&E with a suspected broken wrist that transpired to gratefully just be a strain but showed his utter commitment to the team in his heroics.

Many thanks to the parents who were able to help with transport as well as produce such fine cricket players as well as Miss Mullins and Mr Rimmel for their fastidious preparations.
