Remembrance at St Mary's
On Remembrance Sunday the Coveney and Crowdy families represented both St Mary's and Old Basing Infants at the parades at St Mary's Church and in central Basingstoke. Wreaths were laid at both memorials on behalf of all the staff and pupils at the two schools.

On Monday 11th the school fell silent when all staff, pupils and visitors joined the British Legion at Trafalgar Square, via live streaming, to observe the two minute silence.
The Act of Worship that morning included some very thought provoking poems and prayers written by children in response to the work they have been doing about Remembrance. Fr Alec also joined us for the service recalling a journey he had shared with an elderly man who was a survivor from a Burmese prisoner of war camp during WW11. His plea was that he wanted others to know about what had happened so that they are never forgotten.
