Church of England Junior School

Virtual Tour Goes Live - Admissions 2021

Dear Parents/carers

At this time of year, we would normally be preparing our Open Day to enable you to see us in action and find out all that St Mary’s CE Junior School has to offer your child. We are all very proud of our school and the Year 6 pupils in particular look forward to being able to show you around our school. It is therefore with some sadness that we have had to make the decision not to hold Open Days this year in order to comply with the current COVID 19 restrictions.

We are proud to be a voluntary aided church school in the Dioceses of Winchester and have strong links with our parish church of St Mary’s. The school originally started in the Bolton Chapel of the church in 1865 and to this day remains at the heart of the village community.

Our core Christian value of love, in the form of One Family, underpins everything we do in school. Whilst we believe in excellence in all aspects of school life and individual excellence is recognised and valued, we believe that through a focus on love, by working together as part of a strong and supportive family, we can all achieve more – socially, emotionally and academically.

Our curriculum offers opportunities for all children to learn creatively, explore and enquire, encouraging them to think deeply about their learning. Staff work hard as a team, reviewing progress and exploring new strategies to capture the energy and enthusiasm of young learners in order to inspire them to develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

During these challenging times, we have thought long and hard about how to show you what we think is special and unique about St Mary’s, whilst ensuring that everyone remains safe. Thanks to the wonder of modern technology we are now able to offer you a 360 degree tour of our school as well as bird's eye view so that you can also appreciate the extent of our school grounds.
