Church of England Junior School

Netball, Rugby and football

St Mary's played their first games in the football, rugby and netball league.

St Mary's have been busy over the last week playing in various sporting events. Firstly, the netball team played Fairfields school and won 8-0. Not only this, they were sporting and encouraged all players to do their best. After the game, there was a mixed team of St Mary's and Fairfields against each other which resulted in a 1-1 draw.

Secondly, the girls Year 5/6 football team played St John's and won 9-0. Again, their sporting conduct was fantastic and all girls enjoyed playing. This means they are now top of their league and will welcome other fixtures later this month.

Lastly, the rugby team began their league in excellent fashion playing against Great Binfields, Rucstall and Fairfields. St Mary's won two games and lost one meaning they are currently second in the league. They even managed to avoid the wet weather!
