Year 4 is a year of growing independence, deeper thinking and expanding horizons. Pupils continue to build on their core skills in English and Maths, developing greater confidence in reading comprehension, writing for a range of purposes and tackling more complex mathematical concepts such as fractions and decimals. Science lessons encourage curiosity and investigation, while History and Geography explore fascinating topics that connect children to the wider world. Religious Education (RE) plays an important role in helping children understand different beliefs, values and traditions, fostering respect and reflection. Creative subjects such as Art, French, Music, and Design & Technology allow pupils to express themselves and develop practical skills. PE lessons promote fitness, coordination and teamwork, and our PSHE curriculum supports children in understanding themselves and others. Year 4 is a vibrant and rewarding stage in every child’s learning journey.
