  • Prayer Space

At St Mary’s, our Prayer Space is a special time that takes place three times a year, giving children the chance to pause, reflect and connect with their thoughts and feelings. Each Prayer Space includes five meaningful activities designed to help children explore their spirituality, think deeply and consider others in the wider community. These moments encourage kindness, empathy and a sense of peace. Children also have the chance to create thoughtful gifts, write prayers or share messages of hope for people in the local area. We’ve even visited care homes and local businesses to spread the St Mary’s love and brighten someone’s day.

Easter Prayer Space - March 2026

The children at St Mary's enjoyed their Prayer Space activities, celebrating Easter. As part of our community work, the children created an Easter egg bag, full of mini eggs to be delivered to the local community. Eggs were delivered to: Old Basing Infant school, Old Basing Nursery, the local doctors surgery and pharmacy and local emergency services. Below, are some picture of this. In addition to this, they created coasters, prayers, had reflections and lit candles.
