Enrichment opportunities

We aim to enrich our children’s experiences by providing them with a range of opportunities:

Our offer of ‘clubs’ is continually being reviewed in order to provide our children with the widest selection of both activity-based and sports clubs. These currently range from sugar craft and cooking to chess and judo as well as more mainstream sports such as football, cricket and athletics. Please click the link on the right to find out about our current clubs.

Children also have the chance to learn a wide range of musical instruments and are provided with opportunities to perform to an audience, both as an individual or as part of a one of our choirs or music groups. Please click the link on the right to find out more about the music opportunities open to your child at St Mary's.

Drama opportunities are also planned in as part of our curriculum to support other subjects, as part of class assemblies and in Years 3 and 6, children take part in full scale productions.

In Year 6 children have the opportunity to go on a Residential trip to Calshot Activity Centre where they experience a wide variety of outdoor activities designed to promote independence and teamwork, as well as building their own confidence and self-esteem.

To enrich the children’s learning experience a number of activities and trips are also planned into curriculum. These have included: Safari Pete, African Drumming, Shakespeare workshop, and trips to Oxenwood outdoor centre, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Alice Holt, Gordon Brown Centre, and the V&A Museum. Look in our news section to see how the children have enjoyed their visits and visitors this year

The children are already involved in fundraising for charities, which have included: Children in Need, Shoe Box Appeal, the Foodbank Sport and Comic Relief, Diabetes UK and supporting a child through her education in Uganda.
